The oldest Cookbook in the world is a clay Babylonian tablet. It dates back to 1750 BC (the time of Hammurabi) and contains the oldest known cooking recipes. Inscribed in Akkadian, its recipes give very precise instructions and measurements, making it most likely that it was for use by professional cooks and chefs of that time.
